Recura is a routine and task system for individuals and shared spaces — households, roommates, teams. This page describes what data the service handles, in plain language. The short version: your data exists to run your routines, we don't sell it, and we don't track you around the web.

What we store

  • Account: your email address and a password (stored as a salted hash — we never see the password itself).
  • Your content: tasks, routines, schedules, completions, skips and skip reasons, timer durations, member names/emoji you choose, and your space's timezone.
  • Household sharing: if you invite someone, the email you invited and their membership in your shared space.

What we don't do

  • No advertising, and no sale or sharing of your data — for advertising or anything else.
  • No session recording or screen capture, and no cross-site tracking.
  • No tracking cookies. The app stores a session token on your device so you stay signed in; analytics identity (below) lives in your browser's local storage, not in cookies.

Product analytics

To understand how the app is used — which features help, where people get stuck — the app sends product-analytics events to PostHog, a third-party analytics service (data is processed on PostHog's US infrastructure). Concretely:

  • Events cover in-app activity — screens viewed, app opens, and similar — not the content of your tasks, routines, or skip reasons.
  • While you're signed in, events are attributed to your account by its internal id only. We never send your email or your content to PostHog.
  • No session recording, no advertising, no profiling for third parties.
  • Analytics runs only in the released apps. Development builds send nothing, and the public marketing site (recurahq.com) carries no analytics at all.

Error monitoring

So we can find and fix crashes and failures, the apps and our servers report errors to Sentry, a third-party error-monitoring service (data is processed on Sentry's US infrastructure). Concretely:

  • A report is sent only when something goes wrong. It contains technical diagnostics — the error and where it happened in the code, device/browser and operating-system version, and a short trail of the recent in-app actions that led up to it (screens, requests) — not the content of your tasks, routines, or skip reasons.
  • While you're signed in, an error is attributed to your account by its internal id only. We don't send your email, and we've turned off Sentry's collection of personal data such as your IP address.
  • No session recording and no performance/behaviour tracing — errors only.
  • Like analytics, this runs only in the released apps and our live servers. Development builds report nothing.

AI features

Some features call a large-language-model provider when you invoke them: parsing a task you type in plain language, generating insights or breakdowns. In those moments the relevant task text and summary statistics are sent to the provider to produce the response, and the result is stored in your space. AI features are on-demand — nothing is sent continuously in the background — and your data is not used by us to train models.

Calendar feed

If you use the calendar subscription, its URL contains a private token: anyone holding the link can read your schedule. Treat it like a password; you can rotate the token from Settings at any time, which invalidates the old link immediately.

Who can see what

Members of a shared space see that space's tasks, routines, and history — that's what sharing a household means. Your personal space is yours alone. Access control is enforced at the database layer (row-level security), not just in the interface.

Your data, your controls

  • Export: download your data as JSON from Settings at any time.
  • Deletion: leaving a shared space removes your participation in it. To delete your account and its data entirely, email support@recurahq.com and we'll confirm within a few days.

Changes

If this policy changes materially, the "last updated" date above changes with it, and significant changes will be called out in the app.
